LILA MARIE FORD THOMPSON

LILA MARIE FORD THOMPSON

March 18, 1955 February 26, 2026

Dallas, TX

Lila Marie Ford, born March 18, 1955, in Fulton, Arkansas, to Ernest and Serverda Ford, passed away after a life marked by deep faith and quiet devotion. She accepted Christ at Prayer Tower COGIC and remained a faithful member of RTC until her health no longer allowed. Lila received her education in the Dallas Independent School District and later earned her GED along with a certification in accounting from Edmond J. Cohan.

Known affectionately as Ms. Ree, she cherished her family above all else. Her love for her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and extended family was evident in everything she did. Lila had a vibrant personality that could light up any room with her bright smile and warm laugh. She delighted in shopping on Temu for colorful wigs, matching glasses, and gowns, and she was the person others turned to for prayer or a listening ear.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Serverda Ford; her sons, Cedric Ford and Dwight Williams; her sister, Kerrie Ford-Allen; and her brothers, Otha Hill Sr., Leroy Ford, and Jesse Ford. She is survived by her husband, Anthony Joiner; sons Clifford Thompson Jr. and Corey Thompson; daughters Shavari Thompson and Kandasia Wilson (Johnny); sisters Virginia Thomas and Bobbie Dee Willis; nineteen grandchildren, Cabresha Thompson, LaTaijah Jones Warren (Kevion), Cedric Ford Jr., LaToddric Thompson, Dazavian Williams, Clifford Thompson III, Taquavian Thompson, Donesha Ford, Kayla Ford, Jibri’I Fuller, Davian Thompson, Kametria Jones, Anthony Wade Jr., Cedric Wade, Damani Thompson, Essence Wade, Zanya Thompson, Kailan Thompson, and Skyy Tyson; four great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Evion, Dazavian Jr., and Ember; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her deeply.
