Lewis "Lew" Mohrmann

Lewis "Lew" Mohrmann

November 10, 1947 March 6, 2026

Naples, FL

Lewis “Lew” Mohrmann, a 20-year resident of The Quarry in Naples and a founding member of the Quarry Golf Club, passed away on March 6, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born in Queens, New York, and raised in Commack on Long Island, Lew served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Vietnam War in 1968. A proud veteran who always flew the American flag, he began his career as an auto mechanic before becoming an electrician and founding Beach Electric in Quogue, New York. After retiring, he and his wife Ann divided their time between Long Island and Naples.

Lew was deeply active in his community. He volunteered for several years on the night shift as an EMT with the Medford Ambulance and proudly served as the Native American mascot for the Sachem Youth Soccer Club on weekends. He and Ann shared a lifelong love of dancing, especially the polka, and could rarely be kept from the dance floor at weddings and celebrations. Halloween was another favorite holiday; he delighted in dressing up his children when they were young and, in later years, planned his Quarry Halloween costumes months in advance in hopes of winning the prize.

Known for his humor and playful spirit, Lew was famous among his children’s friends and cousins for tossing them into the pool, whether they were ready or not. At The Quarry, he was a familiar and competitive presence on the golf course, where he enjoyed tournaments, achieved several holes-in-one, and was often seen retrieving golf balls from the water hazards. Though illness limited his time on the course in recent years, he remained a warm and welcoming figure who will be greatly missed by the many friends he made there.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ann; his children, Christine, Lewis and his wife Kellie; and five grandchildren, Allie, Elle, Luke, Henry, and Kyle.
