Lettie Mae Lee, born on September 6, 1931, in Trilby, Florida, passed away on March 11, 2026, at the George C. Forsythe Hospice House in Auburndale.
She lived a vibrant life marked by love, service, and deep faith. For many years she worked as a bus driver for Polk County Schools, where her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression on generations of children. A devoted member of the First Baptist Church of Lake Wales, Lettie earlier shared her musical gifts as pianist at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Meade, enriching worship services with her talent and heartfelt devotion.
Beyond her work and church life, Lettie found joy in crocheting, crafting, and sewing, often making clothes for her children. She took great pleasure in tracing her family’s genealogy and loved to travel, especially camping in an RV with her husband, Malcolm, creating cherished memories on their adventures together. She was also an active member of the Eastern Star and the Amaranth.
Lettie is survived by her son, Malcom McLean Lee, Jr. of O'Brien, Florida; her daughters, Patricia JoAnn Finn of Pensacola and Sara Elizabeth Webb and her husband Paul of Lake Wales; her sisters, Dorothy Ann Tucker of Bartow, Ladye Cox and her husband Jim of Dunnellon, and Omie Irene Newsome of Alachua; ten grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Malcolm McLean Lee, Sr., her son Kenneth Marvin Lee, and her brothers SE McDaniel, Robert McDaniel, and Edward McDaniel.
