Leslie Belmondo

Leslie Belmondo, 69, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Throughout her life, Leslie embodied devotion, strength, and quiet grace. She was a loving wife, a dedicated mother, and a woman whose kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Born to William and Rose McDermott, Leslie grew up surrounded by a close-knit family and carried those values into her adult life. She spent most of her years in Girard, Pennsylvania, where she built a home filled with love and laughter. Leslie found joy in the simple things, especially spending time by the water and tending to her garden, two places where she felt most at peace. She was a proud graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, Class of 1973.

She is survived by her devoted husband, David Belmondo; her children, Gennica Matosky and her husband Brian Matosky, David “D.J.” Belmondo and his wife Jill Belmondo, and Brent Belmondo. Leslie also leaves behind many grandchildren and a great-grandchild who brought her endless joy, as well as her sisters Franny Marsh and Nancy Cobian.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose McDermott; her sister, Judy Cross; her brother, William “Bill” McDermott; and several beloved family members and friends.
