Below is a Life Story Shared from Leslie's loving family:
In the beginning, Robert E Nelson and Anna Elizabeth (Annabeth) Smith Nelson were united in marriage and were blessed with five children, the oldest being Elizabeth Anne, and then the twins, Robert Lawrence and Leslie Allen, Melinda Clair, and youngest sister Amanda Marie. Robert E Nelson later was father to Toben Dekker. This tale of adventure is focusing on Leslie Allen Nelson, who was born July , 1949. Let it be known, her twin brother Robert was 7 minutes older than her and never failed to let people know.Leslie Allen Frazier passed away on March 10th at 3:52 in the afternoon. She was surrounded by her children and loved ones. Leslie had battled breast cancer that was recurring for two decades. She was an avid breast cancer awareness/research advocate. Leslie was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Annabeth, as well as her sister Elizabeth, twin brother Robert, her husband Ron, and Art and Joyce Thomas (brother-in-law/sister-in-law). She is survived by her children: Greg Benge (Dwanae), Aaron Benge (Rebecca), and Stephani Presnell, and grandmother to: David (Violet), Taylor, Deryk (Kelly), Abbi, Kris Fusco (Ivonne), Lukas (Chelsea), Ethan Chezem (Bailey), Noah (Abigail), Esther, Zedekiah, Zachary, Sadie Lazaro (Jared), Seth Presnell (Maria), and is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her siblings: Melinda and Amanda (John), Toben (Kimberly), Patty Woodrum (Woody)(brother-in-law), Marge Stultz (sister-in-law), and Ted Frazier (brother-in-law) (Marilyn), and many nieces/nephews.Leslie’s father, Robert, served in the Navy. Her family moved around from the south to the west coast during her childhood. Leslie eventually met Cecil (Buddy) Benge, and they married. Together they had three children: Gregory, Aaron, and Stephani. Cecil passed away in 1981. Leslie was a strong mother to her children in so many ways. She raised them to fear God, work hard, and showed them that it was possible to laugh in the toughest of situations. Leslie later met Ron Frazier, and they were joined in marriage. Leslie and Ron attended Harvestime Fellowship Church for 40 years, where Leslie played worship music each Sunday with her family and church family. She was an excellent pianist; her children grew up listening to her sing praise songs as she would often worship Jesus while practicing in the evenings. Leslie had a joyful spirit that would illuminate any room she was in - from a church sanctuary to a hospital room. Leslie was a nurse and later worked in administration for St. Claire Hospital in Crawfordsville, Indiana. She became a nurse by completing night school while her children were growing up - putting in countless hours per week at work and school. After Leslie retired from the hospital, she continued work at the wound-care clinic in Crawfordsville. She had a passion for helping people and achieved this throughout her life.We are asking in love, that all women wear a bandana on their leg, arm, or head, on the day of the funeral.
