Bayou Blue, LA
Leroy Vicknair, 88, a native and resident of Bayou Blue, Louisiana, passed away on March 6, 2026.
Leroy was a quiet and hardworking man who found joy in the simple things in life. He spent many years working as a dump truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, old cars, watching boxing, and spending time outdoors. In his younger years, he especially loved going out at night bull-eyeing rabbits, making memories doing the things he loved most. He also had a deep love for music, especially the songs of Hank Williams, which he enjoyed listening to whenever he could. Leroy took pride in his appearance, always staying clean and neat, and he was known for his memorable trait of being able to fall asleep just about anywhere, something that often brought smiles to family and friends.
Above all, Leroy was a loving father and a proud Pawpaw. He treasured the time he spent with his family and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His steady presence, kind heart, and simple way of life left a lasting impression on those around him.
He is survived by his children, Troy Vicknair, Holly Vicknair, and Joey Vicknair (Terri); grandchildren, Katie, Dustin, TJ, Sadie, Sara, Little Joey, Nicole, Jeremy, Blake, and Jacob; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Lucille Vicknair; son, Cory Vicknair; brother, Rudy Vicknair; and sisters, Vivian Galle, Judy Harris, and Delores Rodrigue.
