Leora "Sue" Kirby

Leora L. "Sue" Kirby, 94, of Lewisburg, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026, at Oak Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lewisburg.

Born in Milton on January 1, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Erma (Williams) Roat and Lee Harpster. She was married to Robert Kirby for 63 years until his death in 2017. A graduate of Milton High School and Harrisburg Hospital School of Nursing, Leora devoted her career to nursing, working at Evangelical Community Hospital as well as hospitals in Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jacksonville, Florida. She lived in ten different states during her life and found great joy in crocheting, sewing, quilting, and playing pinochle.

She is survived by her three daughters, Carol Patton of Rockledge, Florida, Susan Blase and her husband Larry of Milton, and Patricia Schneider-Kirby and her husband Thomas of Oberbalm, Switzerland; three grandchildren, Chris Patton and his wife Nesha, Valerie Hickman and her husband Ken, and Amber Rarig; and five great-grandchildren, Trista, Justin, Alex, Brinley, and Robert.
