Kersten of Eunice, Louisiana, born in White River, South Dakota, who passed away on March 8, 2026, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Veoda Ardoin Kersten; his parents, Jake Kersten and Christina Hendricks Kersten; and his siblings, Hermann Jan Kersten, Myron Jake Kersten and Edith Kersten Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Stephen Derek Kersten (Beth) and Constance Anne Kersten (Sheree).

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Ardoin's Funeral Home Chapel (1210 S Ryan Ave, Basile, LA 70515). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:45 PM to 3:00 PM at the St. Augustine Catholic Church (2717 Dr Bobby Deshotel Ave, Basile, LA 70515).
