November 9, 1939— March 9, 2026
Copley, OH
Leonard Bruce Zittle, 86, of Copley, Ohio, passed away on March 9, 2026. Born on November 9, 1939, in Akron, Ohio, to the late Vernon and Doris (Stidham) Zittle, he served his country in the United States Army before beginning a career with the Credit Bureau of Columbus.
Leonard’s deep connection to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church formed a central part of his life, where his faith and the congregation became a second family to him. Even as his health declined, the church community continued to surround him with care and support. He remained a devoted Cleveland sports fan, faithfully cheering for the Cavaliers and the Guardians, and found great pleasure in reading, losing himself in the pages of countless books.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Janice (Hackman) Zittle, and his son, Eric Zittle. Leonard is survived by his brother, Bruce Zittle and his wife Edna, along with several nieces and nephews.
