Leona Marie Jones

Leona Marie Jones, of O’Fallon, Missouri, entered into eternal heavenly peace at the age of 87 on March 12, 2026.

Leona is survived by her loving husband, Frank Jones; her children Donnie Jones (Lisa Jones), Christopher Jones (Sharon Jones), Kenneth Jones (Julianne Jones) and Tina Smith (Doug Smith). She leaves behind 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren, who affectionately knew her as “Memaw.”

Leona’s family was arguably her most important achievement in life. Frank and Leona married on May 12, 1959. They knew they wanted to spend their lives together after 12 days of knowing each other. The two raised their children in Kirkwood, Missouri, before moving out to O’Fallon for their retirement.

Those days were spent visiting with their children and grandchildren, caring for her stray cats, a few trips to the casino and she would play the occasional game on the website Pogo. She also had a knack for anything creative: Crafting jewelry and painting were two of her main hobbies later in life.

Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Angie and Roy, and siblings Mary, Dorothy, Eileen (Sissy), Bill, Leonard and Fred. She will now be reunited with them and her beloved Pomeranian, Angel.

Leona lived a long life, full of love and laughter. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
