We are sad to announce that on March 7, 2026 we had to say goodbye to Leon L. Merchant of Caribou, Maine. Though Leon may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Leon touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Merchant and Gertrude Merchant (Damboise); his wife Nancy Merchant (Peters); his grandson Richard Merchant; and his brother Eugene Merchant.

He is survived by: his children, Kathy Lyons, Patty Merchant, Lisa Bell, Sheila Green and Lee Merchant Jr.. He is also survived by many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home (11 Clover St, Caribou, ME 04736). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 12th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
