Braintree, MA
Leon J. Dunajski of Braintree passed away on March 11, 2026, at the age of 90.
Born in Peabody, he was the oldest son of the late John and Anna (Serocki) Dunajski. Leon grew up on the family dairy farm, Dunajski Dairy, in Peabody, where he learned the value of hard work and dedication. Those early experiences helped shape the steady and thoughtful man he became.
He worked as a house painter and took pride in his craft, known for his reliability, strong work ethic, and careful attention to detail. In his free time, Leon enjoyed being outdoors, particularly golfing and riding his motorcycle, often with his children, creating memories they will always cherish. He stayed active through weightlifting and found joy in family vacations, beach days, and cookouts. Though quiet by nature, he possessed a great sense of humor and treasured the simple moments spent with family and friends.
Leon will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kindness, and the many quiet ways he showed his love. He was the husband of the late Janet (Cogswell) Dunajski. He leaves behind his cherished children, Lisa A. Dunajski, Marcia Bennett and her husband James, Eric Dunajski and his partner Theresa, and Lynne Hazleton and her husband Craig. He was predeceased by his sons John and Paul Dunajski. Leon was the devoted grandfather of Tyler Lee Hazleton. He is also survived by his siblings Joan Sopzcak, Karl Dunajski, and his late brother John Dunajski’s wife Dixie, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
