Redford, MI
Leocadia Josephine Tigani passed away at the age of 102 on March 8, 2026, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gregory; her parents, Thomas and Sophie; her daughter, Diane; her brothers, Carl, Thomas, and Raymond; and her sisters, Sue, Shirley, Irene, and Josephine. She is survived by her brothers, Alfred, Leonard, and James; her daughter, Denise; her sons, Gregory and James (Shayna); her son-in-law, Norman; her grandchildren Jennifer (Reid), Monica (Jeffrey), Rayan (Hugh), Amree (Brett), G. Anthony, Merae, Anslee, Zachary, Logan, and Callan; and her great-grandchildren Peyton, Brayden, Cadia, James, Amelia, Leo, Maddox, Violet, and Remi.
Known affectionately as Lou, LuLu, Mom, Gramma, Grandma, ‘G,’ and Great Gramma, Leocadia was a woman defined by love and kindness. Her home was a welcoming haven where an open door and warm smile greeted everyone. She never spoke a negative word, and she was remembered for her quick wit, generous heart, and the joy she found in hosting family and friends with delicious home-cooked meals.
She cherished her life, honoring her parents every day and taking great pride in the name her beloved father gave her. She often shared stories of her 50-year journey with her late husband, Gregory, and remained forever thankful for the home they built together, where she lived for 70 years. A proud matriarch, she adored her family with every bit of her heart.
Growing up in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, Leocadia often recalled fond memories of life on the family farm, where she learned the value of honest work. She later worked at Cadillac Motor Car, where she met Gregory, as a nurse’s aide at St. Mary’s Hospital, and at Crowley’s. Deeply faithful, she was honored by her church as one of its first members. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—driving, shopping, cooking, tending her beautiful flowers, sitting on her porch swing, and visiting with neighbors and friends. She cared deeply for animals, including the neighborhood squirrels she affectionately called “Chippy” and fed with peanuts from her pockets. Leocadia genuinely loved everyone and everything, and her legacy of love will live on in all who knew her.
