Leo Joseph Shimshock, 94, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on March 8, 2026, at Edward M. Poe Hospice in Titusville. Born on March 15, 1931, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, to Walter Shimshock and Martha Stefanowski, Leo moved to Brevard County, Florida, in the spring of 1961 and made it his home for the rest of his life.
A dedicated professional in the aerospace industry, Leo worked as an instrument inspector. He contributed to the instrumentation ring for rocket systems and played a part in supporting communications during the early years of the space shuttle program. His efforts helped advance the nation’s space exploration during an extraordinary period of innovation on Florida’s Space Coast.
Leo was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus, an affiliation that reflected his deep faith, spirit of service, and commitment to his community. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Walter “Red” Scott, and his daughter, Theresa Ann Goddard.
He is survived by his sons, Lee (Marcela) Shimshock and Michael Shimshock, and his grandchildren, Dustin and Nicholas Goddard.
