Swanson (Palladino), 90 a lifelong resident of Paulsboro, passed away Thursday, March 5th. She was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Sylvia Palladino and remained a proud member of the community throughout her life.She was the beloved wife of the late Ronald A. Swanson. Lena is survived by her son, Ronald T. Swanson and his wife Maria of Gibbstown, and her daughter, Christine Rossi and her husband Randy of Woolwich Township, and her cherished grandchildren, Adriana, Alessandra, and Vincenzo Rossi.In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Palladino, and her sister, Marie Zumbo. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Jones of West Deptford, and her brother, Alfonso Palladino Jr., and his wife Eileen of Paulsboro, along with many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.Lena was born at home in Paulsboro. She attended Buck Street School and later graduated from Paulsboro High School. She grew up working in the family businesses delivering milk with her mother and sisters, where she earned the nickname "Leapin' Lena" from jumping off the milk truck. She also worked alongside her father in the family's junkyard.Lean's greatest accomplishments were being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved family dinners and was known for her delicious desserts.Lena will be remembered for her devotion to her family and the many memories she created throughout her life. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.Family and friends may visit from 10 am to 11 am on Monday, March 16th at St. Clare of Assisi Parish – St. Michael's Church, 313 Memorial Ave, Gibbstown, NJ where a memorial mass will be held at 11am. Burial will be private at Gloucester County Veterans Cemetery in the future.
