Leland Sholl ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Cotner Funeral Home on Mar. 16, 2026.During his busy and meaningful life, Lee lived in both Michigan and Indiana, where he and his family were active in their communities and always willing to lend a helping hand. Lee proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of his life that he carried with great pride. In later years, he was honored to participate in an Honor Flight Network trip, an experience that meant a great deal to him and his family.Lee and his beloved wife Virginia were hardworking entrepreneurs who owned several local businesses over the years, including The Curiosity Shop and Maranatha Flowers. Together, they also established Heritage Haven in Pickerington, Ohio, a home created to support and care for unwed mothers-an example of the compassion and generosity that defined both of them. Lee and Virginia were devoted members of Peace United Methodist Church in Pickerington.Lee had a deep appreciation for classic machines and a lifelong love of Ford cars and Indian motorcycles. In his later years, he spent countless hours carefully restoring his cherished Ford Model A. One of his proudest and most memorable moments was getting the 1931 Ford Model A road-ready and taking it out for breakfast at Denny's, a simple outing that brought him tremendous joy.He was a phenomenal storyteller who could captivate a room with memories and tales from his life. Lee's warm spirit, unmistakable laugh, and gift for sharing stories made time with him unforgettable. Those who knew him will forever remember his humor, his wisdom, and the way he made people feel welcome.Lee is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia; sister, Jean Sholl; and brothers, Ronald Sholl and Victor Sholl.He is survived by his children: Gary and Ann (Reiss) Sholl; Doug Sholl and Charlene Paul; Renee (Sholl) and Pete Bock; Lana (Sholl) and Mark Barnick; Beverly Sholl; and Roger Sholl and Lynn Stone. He also leaves behind a large and loving family including 21 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild, all of whom will carry forward his stories, laughter, and legacy.His family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19, 2026 from 10 to 11:00 a.m. at Peace United Methodist Church, 235 Diley Road in Pickerington, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. officiated by his brother, Pastor Keith Sholl. Interment will follow at Violet Township Cemetery.Lee will be dearly missed and forever cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Leland E.
