Leland Carlblom ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Dahlstrom Funeral Home - Oakes on Mar. 16, 2026.Leland (Le) James Carlblom passed away on March 15, 2026. Leland was born on November 24, 1977 to Edward and Emily (Devitt) Carlblom in Lisbon, ND. Leland was raised in Lisbon, ND and graduated high school from Lisbon, ND in 1996. Leland married Kylie (Anderson) in 1999 and raised two daughters, Hannah and Anissah in Cogswell, ND. Leland then married Rachael (Hoos) in 2007 and raised two additional daughters, Ava and Veda.Le was a man of few words and many talents. Le had learned to play guitar when he was a teenager and played in a local band, "Snake Handler." Le had always had a unique sense of humor and a kind heart. Le was known for his love of music, true crime, wrestling, and his long hair and goatee, even going so far as to color it for a few years running. For a number of years, Le was the president of the Sheyenne Speedway, nurturing his lifelong love for dirt track racing. He was well-known for his abundance of inappropriate jokes and loved to share as many as possible. "What do you call a strawberry that farts? Tutti frutti," or "What kind of moisturizer does a pig use? An oink-ment," were some of his favorite (appropriate) jokes. In his pastime, he would listen to lots of different kinds of music. His favorite artists were Gary Newman, Type O Negative, L7, Deftones, Amigo the Devil, and The Cure just to name a few. Le idolized Dimebag Darrell ("Best guitarist EVER"). Le passed down his love of music to his two oldest daughters, first introducing them by burning Weezer CDs; they still have the playlist order memorized.Le loved to laugh, he loved to have fun, he loved to love (though he rarely said it). Le will be remembered for his goofy, strange, sweet personality. He was a great man, son, brother, father, and friend.Leland is preceded in death by his grandparents Walron and Ruth Carlblom, Leonard and Lorraine Devitt; father Edward 'Jim' Carlblom, uncles Thomas Devitt, Clint Devitt, Gary Carlblom, and aunt Carrie Devitt. Leland is survived by his mother Emily Carlblom; siblings Teresa Devitt-Lynch, James (Megan) Carlblom, Scott (Chia) Carlblom; partner Karly Groettum (Ivan, Ian, and Isabella); children Hannah (Alex) Pajari, Anissah (Nick) Haugen, Ava Carlblom, Veda Carlblom, and Luke Wiek; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends.Le was never one for goodbye, so until we meet again - "Toodles."Leland will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.Condolences can be sent to Hannah Pajari at 580 W Cedar Ave, Fergus Falls, MN 56537.Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 4p at the hall in the Overtime Bar in Gwinner, ND.
