Leisa Cooper

Leisa Saunders Cooper, born on May 8, 1957, in Trenton, Michigan, passed away on March 1, 2026, in Dearborn, Michigan, at the age of 68. She spent her life in Trenton, where she worked as a beloved teacher. With unwavering commitment and a gentle spirit, Leisa dedicated herself to supporting her students, first at Trenton Public Schools and later at Christ the King Lutheran School in Southgate.

She was a cherished wife, mother, daughter, and sister. Preceded in death by her father, James Saunders, Leisa is survived by her devoted husband, James “Coop” Cooper; her beloved daughter, Emmy Cooper; her loving mother, Sylvia Saunders; her dear siblings, Craig (Dana) Saunders and Mark (Jeannie) Saunders; and her two dogs, Izzy and Tootsie.

Leisa was known for her warmth, kindness, and style. Her family and friends will forever remember her generous heart and the joy she brought into their lives.
