Lee R. Cecere

February 20, 1940 March 13, 2026

Bridgewater, NJ

Lee R. Cecere, 86, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at home on March 13, 2026. Born at Margaret Hague Hospital in Jersey City, he was the son of the late Adam and Bertha (Affuso) Cecere. Though he eventually made his home in Bridgewater, Lee lived in many places over the years, including West New York, Carteret, Edison, Aurora, Colorado, and various locations throughout Latin America and Europe.

After graduating from Memorial High School in West New York, Lee studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University and New York University. He built a long career in banking operations with Citibank, working at the landmark “Whistle” building on East 53rd Street in New York City. His professional life took him to more than twenty countries, where he formed lasting friendships that he maintained until the end of his life. He also served his country as a member of the United States Army National Guard in the 1960s, working as a medic and public safety official.

Lee found joy in gardening, classic cars, sailing, and music. He was known for his light step, warm smile, and habit of breaking into a few lines of his favorite songs during conversation. A devoted animal lover, he cherished his little Chihuahua, Sammy.

He is survived by his wife, Karin Cecere; his former wife, Helen Cecere; his brother, Antone Cecere; his sisters, Christine Roberts and Jacqueline Sobroza; his children and their spouses—Tina Hunter, and sons Tracy, Michael, and Spencer Cecere; and two grandchildren, Vanessa and Amelia, along with many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
