He was the second son among ten children and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.Chris spent much of his early life working as a skilled tailor, a trade he took great pride in. He later retired from BSR in the United Kingdom after years of dedicated work. His life journey took him across continents-first emigrating from Jamaica to the United Kingdom, and later to the United States in the mid-1980s in pursuit of new opportunities and to reunite with family members who had previously emigrated.After moving to the United States, Chris and his beloved wife, Claudine Christian, made their home in Brooklyn, New York, where they lived for 40 years and built a life filled with family and community. In 2020, they relocated to Florida to enjoy retirement together in the sunshine.Chris was known for his calm, easygoing nature and his ability to simply go with the flow. He enjoyed life's simple pleasures-good food (especially his hot gravy and a ripe mango), listening to reggae music, playing dominoes and trying his luck at the slot machines. He also enjoyed occasional trips to Atlantic City. Perhaps most memorable to those who knew him was his talent in the kitchen; Chris was an excellent cook who loved preparing meals and sharing them with those around him.Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Advira and Eric Christian, and his brother, Sydney Christian.He leaves behind his loving wife of 42 years, Claudine Christian, whom he married on August 27, 1983. He is also survived by his many grandchildren, his brothers and sisters, and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were fortunate to know and love him. His gentle spirit and steady presence will be deeply missed by all whose lives he touched.A funeral service honoring Chris's life will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the Kissimmee location of Osceola Memory GardensViewing will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 PM. Interment will take place immediately following the service.
