LeAnn Marie Finley

LeAnn Finley, 71, of Salem, South Dakota, passed away at her home on Tuesday, March 10, 2026.

Born LeAnn Coyne on May 1, 1954, in Webster, South Dakota, to Francis and Evelyn (Petrich) Coyne, she grew up in Bristol where she attended elementary and high school. She went on to complete a two-year secretarial program at Northern State College in Aberdeen. On April 7, 1979, she married Roger Finley in Aberdeen, and together they raised three children: Aaron, Benjamin, and Rachel.

LeAnn worked in various offices in Aberdeen, including administration at Dakota Midland Hospital, and spent more than ten years selling Avon. After retiring, she moved to Salem to be closer to her grandchildren, whom she delighted in spoiling. She found quiet joy in reading, playing games on Facebook, and maintaining friendships with hundreds of pen pals around the world.

She is survived by her husband, Roger Finley; her children, Aaron Finley, Benjamin (Jami) Finley, and Rachel (Paul) Longhenry; her grandchildren, Jerry, AnnaLee, and Louise Longhenry, and Rowan and Asher Finley; and her sister, Ardis Schiley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Evelyn Coyne; her brother, Charles Coyne; her brother-in-law, David Schiley; and her nephews, Daniel Schiley and Jacob Finley.
