Leala Marie Barry

Leala “Lu Lu” M. Barry, age 62 of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on March 11, 2026. Born on February 16, 1964 in Columbus to the late Fred and Janet Barry, Lu Lu was a devoted sister, aunt, and cherished friend whose warm presence touched everyone she met.

Preceded in death by her parents, her sister Regina (Arthur) Wilhoite, and her best friend Darlene Gaines, she is lovingly survived by her sister Sharon Jordan, brothers Don (Andrea) Townsend and Bill (Rhonda) Barry, special nieces Chrissy (John) Danflous, Nikki (Michael) McKenzie, and Gina (Chad) Muth, great-nieces and great-nephew Jordan Danflous, Abbi (Adrianna) Brewer, and Dean Danflous, many other nieces and nephews, and her beloved group of friends known as her “crazy ladies”: Camille Caldwell, MerryLea Goodrich, Janet Kassoff, Vickey Meyer, and Maryann Montgomery.

The Huston family held a special place in her life for many years; they often told her how lucky they were to have her, though Lu Lu always believed she was the fortunate one. She dedicated more than 35 years to her work at Rising Star, traveling extensively and forming lasting friendships across the country. A devoted Ohio State football fan, she served as secretary for The Earle Bruce Quarterback Club for over 20 years. She also found great joy in auto racing, where she made many more dear friends.

Lu Lu will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
