Lea Ann Vaught

Lea Ann (Love) Vaught, of North Vernon, Indiana, passed away peacefully at her residence on March 11, 2026. Born on August 11, 1954, in Bedford, Indiana, she graduated from Bedford High School and went on to earn her registered nursing degree from Vincennes University.

Lea Ann devoted more than twenty years of her career to nursing at Dunn Hospital in Bedford, where her compassion and steadfast dedication earned the deep respect of patients and colleagues alike. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in caring for her family and helping others. She was a former member of the Bedford First Church of God and a current member of Harvest Baptist Church in North Vernon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Love and Clydia Love. Lea Ann is survived by her husband, Russell Vaught of North Vernon; her three children, Jeff Atchison of Jeffersonville, Indiana, Travis Atchison and his wife Raegan of Bedford, and Ashley Atchison; nine grandchildren, including Darian Atchison, Piper Atchison, Aubrey White and her husband Jesse White, Keaton Atchison, Alayna Atchison, Kylee Atchison, Spencer Atchison, Alexandra Long, and Colton Atchison; and one great-grandson, August White.

She will be remembered for her kindness, her quiet strength, and the love she so generously shared with her family and friends.
