LC Smith

LC Smith, age 71, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on March 9, 2026, in East Ridge, Tennessee. He was born on April 1, 1954, in Courtland, Alabama, to Mattie Mosley Fuqua and the late Charles Smith.

A graduate of Fisk University, Class of 1977, LC played football during his college years and formed lifelong friendships there. He devoted many years to the City of Decatur, Alabama, in Youth Services, where he supported and guided countless young people in the community with care and dedication.

He is survived by his daughter, Dawn Smith; his mother, Mattie Mosley Fuqua; and his siblings Carl Smith, Vinnie Smith-Roberts, Ernestine Smith-Lovelace (James), and Anita Lockhart. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Smith, and his sister, Susie Smith-Robinson. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

LC Smith will be remembered by those who knew and loved him, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.
