Layne "Mike" Michael Wilbright

Layne "Mike" Michael Wilbright

April 25, 1955 March 13, 2026

Winona, MN

Layne “Mike” Michael Wilbright, a true renegade, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

Layne was born on April 25, 1955, in Winona, MN, to Thayne and Phyllis, and spent his life passionately pursuing what he loved—riding his beloved Indian motorcycles. There was something special about the solitude of the open road for Layne; it was his sanctuary, a place where he felt most at home.

His grandkids brought him the greatest joy. Layne loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always available for those he loved.

Layne was also a hardworking individual who dedicated 47 years of his life to Fiberite before retiring at the age of 65. Layne is survived by his partner of 25 years, Peggy “Pearl”; children, Layne Jr. (Debra), Shawn (Jessica), and Michelle (Keyeon); grandchildren, Samantha, Madison, Destannie, Kaylin, Milayna, Zayvion, Colton, and Sariah; siblings, Linda (Jeff) and Lynn “Tinker” (Patricia); beloved dog, Fergus; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Layne was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Julie.

A funeral service will be held for Layne on Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12pm, with visitation beginning at 10am at Hoff Celebration of Life Center (3480 Service Dr. Winona, MN). Layne will be laid to rest at Pleasant Valley Cemetery.

Hoff Celebration of Life Center is assisting the family.
