Gilpin, LayneDELMAR - Layne Gilpin died Friday, March 6, 2026, at Shaker Place Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Colonie, N.Y. She was 71 years old.Born April 27, 1954 in Plattsburgh, N.Y., she is the daughter of the Roberta Morris Gilpin and the late Scott Gilpin. She was a long time employee of Ulster County DSS, and retired from New York State, where she worked as an Information Technology Specialist.In addition to her mother, survivors include her daughter, Lara Doyle (Steve) of Cornwall, N.Y.; her siblings, Twyla Smith (John), of Kansas City, Mo., Heidi Fuchs (Al), of Delmar, N.Y., Sean Gilpin, (Carol) of Tilson, N.Y., Petra Bach (Bill), of Saugerties, N.Y., and Bryn Gilpin, of Salinas, Calif.; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and extended Gilpin and Doyle families.Cremation services were private.
