Lawrence Kades

Lawrence “Larry” Kades passed away peacefully on March 10, 2026. Born in Harrisburg on April 6, 1940, he was the loving son of the late Robert and Edith Kades (née Freedman).

After graduating from Governor Mifflin Senior High School in 1958, Larry attended the University of Pennsylvania and went on to build a career as a financial planner. He was a devoted husband for 42 years to his late wife Gail Kades (née Weiss), who passed in 2005. He was the dear father of Joel Kades (Jennifer), Howard Kades (Meredith), Eric Kades, and Elizabeth Richter (Jordan), and the cherished grandfather of Alexander, Skye, Maya, Mirella, Zachary, Griffin, Ryder, and Lily. Larry was the brother of the late Sam Kades and brother-in-law to Sandy Kades, the late Jay Weiss, and Candy Weiss.

He will be remembered for the quiet strength, warmth, and steady presence he brought to his family and all who knew him.
