Lawrence Frye

Lawrence James Frye passed away Sunday February 22, 2026 at his residence at the age of 78. He was born June 23, 1947 in New Jersey to the late Glen and Alice Frye. He served his country in the US Army and then traveled all over the US as a professional card gambler.

He is survived by his wife, Annie Goodson Frye; son, Barry (Cathy); 2 daughters, Mary Beth and her husband Peter, Sallie and her friend Eric; brother, Edward and his wife Kathy; nephews, Jimmy Taggart, Joe Taggart, Pettus Taggart, Criss Taggart, Jonathan Charles Taggart, Dean Taggart; nieces, Jona and Jeri Jo, Michelle White; and numerous grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jay.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday March 14, 2026 at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brandon Bates officiating. Visitation with family and friends will be 10-11 AM Saturday March 14, 2026 at the church.
