Preserve forever →Lawrence "Bubba" Edward Duncan, Sr.
December 4, 1948— March 11, 2026
Lawrence Edward Duncan Sr., known to all as Bubba, was a man who loved deeply and without reservation. He passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Bubba shared 51 devoted years with the love of his life, Gloria Jean Duncan. A Marine veteran who served as a Sergeant E-5, he later worked as a machine operator at General Tire. He earned an aviation mechanic certificate from TSTC, obtained his CDL, and drove a truck locally before realizing the long hours kept him from his family. He finished his career as a machine operator at M&M Mars, from which he retired. Though he worked tirelessly without complaint, his greatest pride came from his role as father to five children and his love of farming. Despite demanding work, he remained present for every one of his kids.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Carol Duncan; his mother, Mildred Louise Duncan; his sisters, Kathleen Lynn Duncan and Jennie Carnes; his brother-in-law, Harold Carnes Sr.; his nephew, Thomas Carnes; and his great-grandson, Robert Angelo Juliano.
Bubba is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean Duncan; his children, Jess Wilburn Horton, Jenny Renae Juliano and her husband Les Juliano, Jonathan Shane Horton and his wife Sharon Horton, Kimberly Lynn Graybill and her husband Brad Graybill, and Lawrence Edward Duncan Jr.; along with his grandchildren, Heather Navarro and her husband Garrett Navarro, Jacob Horton and his wife Shelby Horton, Alisha Martinez, Alexis Garza and her husband Fidel Garza, Jennifer Lynn Horton, Jess Horton II, Whitney Amber Casarez and her husband Alex Casarez, Danielle Brooke Juliano, Shane Horton and his wife Amber Horton, Tyler Branch, Allie and her husband Andreas Pulido, Collen Abbe and his wife Hannah Porteous, Christina Lopez and her husband Jerry Silva, Ashlee Chisholm and her husband Joshua Chisholm, and Erica Worcester and her husband Dylan Worcester; and 27 great-grandchildren.
