Lawrence E. "Jake" Bristol Jr., 59, of West Rutland, died unexpectedly on March 11, 2026. Born on August 10, 1966, in Rutland, he graduated from West Rutland High School in 1984.
Jake loved the outdoors and spent many happy hours hunting, fishing, riding snowmobiles with his family, and racing motocross, where he won numerous trophies. He also enjoyed old country music and playing his guitar. A skilled and passionate carpenter, he helped build a hobby stock car with his father and Bobby Weeden. Known as a bit of a daredevil, Jake was the life of the party and brought energy and laughter wherever he went. In the final two weeks of his life, he cherished daily time bonding with his grandson.
He is survived by his two sons, Jaykob L. Bristol and Chase A. Bristol (Cali Zeno), and his grandson, Landyn Bristol, all of Rutland; two sisters, Holly Chandler and Tami Bristol, both of West Rutland; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jake was predeceased by his father, Lawrence Bristol Sr., in 2005; his mother, Sandra Lebo, in 2015; his sister, Lori Scribner, in 2024; his fiancé, Pam Davis; and his stepson, Adam Jones.
Burial will take place at a later date in the Bristol Cemetery in West Rutland.
