LaRoche, 79, formerly of Lunenburg, passed away peacefully at home to be in the presence of his Savior, Jesus Christ on March 1, 2026.A son of the late Raymond and Doris (Therriault) LaRoche, he was born and raised in Fitchburg. Larry graduated from Fitchburg High School, a member of the Class of 1965. Shortly after graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam era, until receiving an honorable discharge.Upon returning home, Larry began a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service. For 41 years, he faithfully served his Lunenburg community as a letter carrier before retiring in 2007. He belonged to the Fitchburg Retired Men's Club.Outside of his career, Larry had many passions that brought him joy. He loved creating and painting detailed models, especially model trains. He was a die-hard fan of The Three Stooges, and never missed an opportunity to share a joke or make others laugh. Larry also enjoyed playing chess, watching old movies, science fiction, and reading, particularly history, as he was an avid history buff. Along with his family, he enjoyed traveling to historical places and landmarks.He is survived by his two children, Lisa Johnson and husband Timothy of Shrewsbury and Vanessa LaRoche-Pantigoso and husband David of Cusco, Peru; grandchildren, Yvonne and Jessica Johnson and David, Andrew, and Marcos Pantigoso.Larry was predeceased by his wife of 44 years, Denise (Butler) LaRoche in 2021.A calling hour will be held on Monday, March 9, in the Beth Eden Baptist Church, 350 Ashburnham St., Fitchburg from 10-11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am, followed by burial in Forest Hill Cemetery.The Isabelle & Anderson Funeral Home, 316 Clarendon St., Fitchburg is directing arrangements.
