Laveta Ann Fortney

Laveta Ann Fortney of Lawton, Oklahoma, passed away on March 13, 2026, at the age of 91. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose quiet strength and steadfast love touched everyone in her large and growing family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annabell McBride; her husband, David; her great-grandson, Xavier Wise; her daughter-in-law, Sharla Wise; her brother, Bill McBride; her brother-in-law, Leo Drake; and her nephew, David Nickelson.

Laveta is survived by her children, Patti Huffaker and her husband Richard, and Bob Wise; her grandchildren, Danny Lindsey Jr. and Mary, Kristen Molloy and Aaron, Sarah Mansel and Amy, Tina Keough and Karl, Angie Lemley and Chris, Jamie Wise, and Erica Wise; and her great-grandchildren, Tito Lindsey and Chanda, Taylor Baker and JD, Danny Lindsey III, Ariah Pickett and Shawn, Aleigha Wilson, Arrianna Wise, Hunter Molloy, Maddux Molloy, Tylor Roberts, Trista Gray, Ketsiyah Wise, Ashley Cox, and Codi Powell. She is also survived by her sisters, Nadine Drake, Florine Orf and Ron, and Mona Lynch and Don; her sister-in-law, Ginger Wise and Terry Partee; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were an important part of her life.
