LaVerne M. (Kamholz) Kooken

LaVerne M. (Kamholz) Kooken of East Amherst, New York, passed away on March 16, 2026, at the age of 98. She was predeceased by her husband, Sheldon T. Kooken, her son Jeffrey T. Kooken, and her siblings Audrey Honsinger (Floyd) and Ronald Kamholz.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon and Cynthia Weis (Michael), her grandchildren Mark Weis and Kyle Weis (Tara), her great-grandchild Graham Weis, her brother Wayne Kamholz (Arlene), and her sister-in-law Mary Kamholz. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends.

LaVerne lived a life of quiet devotion, most notably as a longtime Eucharist Minister at Infant of Prague Church, where she dedicated much of her time and care to her faith and community. She will be remembered for the steady love she gave her family and the gentle strength she showed throughout her long life.
