Laurel Marie Maxie

Laurel Marie Maxie, 57, of Okeechobee, Florida, passed away on March 10, 2026. Born on May 9, 1968, in Fort Pierce, Florida, she spent her entire life in Okeechobee and was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Okeechobee.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank L. Morris and Hazel R. Morris. Laurel is survived by her son, Michael Simmons, and her daughter, Sarah Nicole Maxie, both of Okeechobee, as well as her brothers, Christopher Morris and his wife Bobbie of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Vincent Morris and his wife Ada of Okeechobee.

She will be remembered as a devoted mother and sister who remained deeply rooted in her faith and her hometown community throughout her life.
