Laura V. Sandals

Laura V. Sandals, 84, of Fredericksburg, passed away on March 12, 2026, at her home. A registered nurse since 1994, Laura also earned a bachelor’s degree in political science, graduating cum laude. She proudly served two years in the Air Force as chief of the operating room, where she met the love of her life, Bill. The couple shared 58 devoted years of marriage.

Laura found quiet joy in selling items on eBay, preparing gourmet meals for her family, and tending her flower and vegetable garden. One of her most cherished memories was the grand tour of the West she took with Bill and their daughters, Rachel and Natalie.

She is survived by her husband, William Sandals; her daughters, Natalie Green and Rachel Romano; and her grandchildren, Alexandra Romano and Julianna Romano. Laura was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank Santos, Gloria Santos, and Eugene Santos, and by her parents, Anthony Santos and Soledad Nieves Santos.
