Laura Overbaugh, age 92, passed away peacefully on March 7, 2026. She leaves behind a legacy of creativity, warmth, and deep family devotion that touched everyone who knew her.
Laura’s life was defined by the love she shared during her 64-year marriage to her beloved husband, the late Clarence J. “Bunky” Overbaugh. Together they built a strong foundation of family and tradition that Laura nurtured throughout her nine decades. A talented and prolific creator, she was known for her beautiful quilting and sewing, ensuring that every family member received one of her handmade quilts. Her nurturing spirit also flourished in her garden, where she took great pride in her roses, and in her kitchen, where she was a master baker renowned for the pies she loved to make and share.
In her earlier years, Laura enjoyed the camaraderie of bowling in a local league. Above all, she found her greatest joy in the company of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who cherished her deeply.
She is survived by her loving children, Karen (Rick) Basista, Ray (Fran) Overbaugh, and Laurie O’Neill; ten grandchildren, Nicole Basista, Bryce Basista, Richard (Jessica) Pachay, Joseph Pachay, Timothy (Kirstie) Pachay, Bryan (Cindy) Overbaugh, Maria (Anthony) Bettasso, Melinda (Jonathan) Wetzel, Jack O’Neill, and Shannon O’Neill; 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Laura was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Bunky” Overbaugh; her daughter, Diana Pachay; her grandson, Michael Pachay; her granddaughter, Lauren Pachay; and her son-in-law, Gary O’Neill.
