Laura Lorraine Shiver

Laura Kampen Shiver passed away peacefully at her home in West Lafayette on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her family. She leaves behind a legacy of deep faith, steadfast love, and selfless devotion to those closest to her.

Laura will be remembered as a loyal friend, devoted mother, loving grandmother, and cherished daughter. To those who knew her best, she was a true caregiver—always putting others first and doing whatever was needed to help, no matter the circumstance. Her genuine happiness lifted those around her. She was a straight shooter, honest and deeply trustworthy, yet wonderfully silly, bringing laughter and light to everyday moments. Strong and tenacious, she faced life with determination and resilience, never backing down from a challenge. A master negotiator, she advocated fiercely for the people she loved.

Her faith was the foundation of her life. A faithful servant to the Lord, Laura lived her beliefs through kindness, service, and unwavering love for others. She had a special talent for decorating, and her attention to detail and creative touch reflected the care she brought to everything she did. Laura found her greatest joy in watching her children participate in sporting events and, above all, in spending time playing with her grandchildren. She treasured time with friends, enjoyed going to the movies, loved walking while sharing good conversation, and was a proud and devoted Chicago Bears fan.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Barbara and Emerson, and her brother, Emerson. She is survived by her loving husband, Jeff; her three daughters, Brittany (Micah), Paige, and Nikki (Ryan); her son, John (Lindsey); and her four cherished grandchildren, Roman, Avie, Laura, and Calla.
