She passed away March 3, 2026, in Rolla, Missouri, at the age of fifty-eight years.Laura grew up in Salem, Missouri and was a 1985 graduate of Salem High School. She furthered her education with Texas County Technical College and received her Licensed Practical Nursing Certificate. Laura devoted her entire nursing career to Seville Care Center. She deeply loved the residents she cared for and was known as compassionate and dedicated nurse. Her patients were like family to her, and she often spent holidays with them.Laura was the proud mother of her daughter: Abigail and her two sons: Logan and Zachary. Her grandsons: Jack, Noah, and Levi were her world, and she loved her nieces and nephews as if they were her own. Laura had a special way of making holidays magical for her family, especially at Easter and Christmas, when she delighted in spoiling them and creating lasting memories they will always cherish.Laura loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed spending time at the Current River. She also loved cooking, grilling, and hosting barbecues with her family, bringing everyone together to share food, laughter, and time with one another.Her faith, family, and friends were the most important parts of her life. As a young girl, Laura accepted Christ and was saved at the Salem First Christian Church, a faith that remained an important foundation throughout her life.Laura is survived by her loving daughter: Abigail Barton of Rolla, MO; mother: Janet Harris of Rolla, MO; sisters: Tami Short and Marlin Woods of Rolla, MO, Sarah Goser and husband Eric of Rolla, MO, and Cindy Waterman and husband Jim of Rolla, MO; grandchildren: Jack, Noah, and Levi; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.Preceding her in death were her sons: Logan Barton and Zachary Barton; and her father: Jack Harris.Laura was full of life, light, and love. She was known for her beautiful smile that lit up the room she walked in. Her legacy will live on in the lives she has touched along the way. Laura will be forever missed.A Private Family Gathering will be held at a later date.
