Laura Chisholm Wilson

Laura Kaye Chisholm Wilson, 57, of Dowd Road in Candor, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026, at Atrium Health Cabarrus in Concord.

Born in Moore County on April 3, 1968, Laura was the daughter of Jerry and Carole Greene Chisholm. A longtime member of Candor Baptist Church, she worked for many years with Montgomery County Schools as a teacher’s assistant and bus driver. She earned an associate’s degree in business and brought energy and joy to everything she did.

Above all, Laura cherished her family. She loved music and dancing, whether at home or out with friends, and performed with the Quicksilver Cloggers. She also enjoyed playing pool and taking trips to the beach.

She is survived by her husband of more than 25 years, James Michael “Slick” Wilson; sons James Clifton Wilson and his wife Courtney of Mount Gilead, and Jacob Michael Wilson of the home; her mother, Carole Greene Chisholm of Albemarle; brother Michael Chisholm and his wife Amy of Salisbury; sister Lisa Chisholm Smith and her husband Kevin of Matthews; and two grandchildren, Gracelyn and Cody.
