Laura Blackard, 64, of Plainfield, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born on November 13, 1961 in Danville, Indiana, to the late Julian and Sarah Blackard, Laura spent her career as a claims specialist with Anthem, retiring after 24 years of dedicated service.
She cherished her family above all, with her grandchildren Rylee, Devin, and Quinn serving as the greatest passion of her life. Laura found daily joy in playing online Scrabble with her sister Mary and took great comfort in the companionship of her beloved dogs.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents and her brother David Blackard. She is survived by her daughter, Savannah Roach; brothers Edward, Richard (Pam), Philip (Stacey), and Jerry Blackard; sisters Julie Powell, Mary (Joe) Barras, and Patricia Blackard; and her three cherished grandchildren.
