Laura Ann Spillman

Laura Ann Spillman, known to all as Laurie, passed away on March 10, 2026, at the age of 42 following a cardiac event. Born on April 26, 1983, in Columbus, Ohio, she grew up in Louisville, where she attended St. Gabriel Grade School and Assumption High School. She remained close with many of her childhood friends throughout her life.

A proud graduate of the University of Kentucky and later Thomas More University, where she earned her M.B.A., Laurie built a life in Cincinnati after college before returning to Louisville. She worked as a valued member of the corporate Finance Team at Papa Johns and cherished being back home, spending time with her parents, reconnecting with old friends, and attending social and sporting events throughout the city. She loved traveling with family and friends, playing tennis, participating in her Assumption High School wine club, and caring for her cat, Turd Ferguson.

Laurie lived with joy and vibrancy, often in a wig, embracing every party, trip, and opportunity to turn ordinary moments into lasting memories filled with laughter. She is survived by her loving parents, Jim and Donna Spillman, her brother Tim and sister-in-law Lindsay, and her nephew Henry, who will grow up hearing stories of how deeply his aunt loved him. She also leaves behind a large circle of “frephews” and “frieces” and the many lifelong friends who formed her chosen family.
