Laura Womack ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Maupin Funeral Home - Fulton on Mar. 16, 2026.Laura Adaline Womack, 73, of Fulton, passed away on March 10, 2026, at her home.She was born on July 21, 1952, in Kansas City, Missouri, to the late Gerald Summers and the late Alma (Huffman) Friedrich.She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Laura shared a special moment in life when she and her mother graduated from LPN school at the same time. During her career, Laura worked at Fulton State Hospital, several nursing homes, and in home health care. She also spent time working in hotel management.Laura had many hobbies but especially enjoyed crafting and crocheting. She was known for making beautiful angels to decorate Christmas trees. A woman of strong faith, Laura was very active in starting the New Beginnings Full Gospel Church in Auxvasse. She loved using her gift of singing in church and especially enjoyed the old hymns and southern gospel music.Laura loved jewelry and dressing up, and in recent years she created a beautiful collection of costume jewelry that she enjoyed displaying, wearing, and sharing with others. It brought her great joy to give pieces away to family and friends. She also loved listening to music. One song in particular, "Lollipop," always brought a smile to her face and became something of a signature song for her. Because of this, she was lovingly known by her family as "Lolly" or "Lollipop." Laura will be remembered most for her kind and loving heart and the deep devotion she had for her family, especially the pride and joy she found in being a grandmother.Laura will be remembered by those who loved her as a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin, niece, and dear friend. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them. She welcomed not only her own children and grandchildren into her heart, but also the many "extra" children and grandchildren who became part of her extended family throughout the years.Those she leaves behind to cherish her memory her three children, Laura "Laurie" Allen Nichols, Kendale Allen, and John Allen; grandchildren; Kenneth Allen III, Matthew Allen (Kim), Eli Nichols, Addison Allen; one great-granddaughter; Keyleth Allen; stepchildren and step-grandchildren; her sisters, Neda Rea Riley, Elizabeth Ann Gill, and Jeanette Rose Friedrich; and one brother, Billy Harold Summers, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever love her dearly.Laura was preceded in death by an infant son; Kenneth Allen Jr.; her first husband, Kenneth Allen; husband, Clyde Womack; her parents, Gerald Summers and Alma (Huffman) Friedrich; one brother, Rocky Wayne Summers; brother-in-law, Carald Riley and one grandson, Michael Carlin.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Mike Haldeman officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
