Larry Tyrell Johnson

Larry Tyrell Johnson, age 60, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away suddenly at his home on March 4, 2026. Born on June 12, 1965, he accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at 12th Avenue Baptist Church by Rev. Cleophus Kee. Larry was an accomplished swimmer who competed for the Windsor Recreation swim team and attended Whetstone High School.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Robert Johnson, Sr. and Emma Jean Johnson; his aunt Bertha Mae Johnson; his special aunt Marion Scales; his sister Jocelyn Lavern Brown; his brothers Darnell Sherod Johnson and Herman Eugene Johnson; his sisters Althalene (Effie) Richardson, Bettie Jean Johnson, and Celia White; and extended family members Michael Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Craig Johnson, Rochelle Johnson, Dina Johnson, and Lavern Johnson.

Larry is survived by his brothers Anthony (Alice) Johnson, Marvin (Anjanette) Johnson, and Troy Johnson, along with a host of nieces and nephews who will carry his memory with love and gratitude.
