He was born on December 8, 1943, in Rockford, Ohio, to Harold and Zona Shindeldecker, who preceded him in death.Larry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He shared 37 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Linda. Together they built a life centered on love, laughter, and adventure. They especially enjoyed traveling together, creating cherished memories in places near and far, including many treasured trips to Destin, Florida - a destination that held a special place in Larry's heart.A proud United States Army veteran, Larry carried the values of service, discipline, and dedication throughout his life. He worked for General Electric for 20 years before continuing his career at Toyota, where he served as a Manager of Logistics. Through perseverance and strong work ethic, earning the respect of colleagues and building a career he was proud of.Outside of work, Larry embraced life's simple pleasures. He had a deep love for golf, particularly at Traditions Golf Club, where he spent many happy hours on the course. He also enjoyed a good martini, a fine cigar, and the fellowship of family and friends.Above all, Larry treasured time spent with his family. His children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of his life. Sharing stories, or simply enjoying being together, he was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.Larry is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Linda; his children Laurie Dillard (Bret), Carrie Hawkins, and Chad Buhr (Jill); nine grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.He leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and love that will live on in all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8 from 12 PM to 2 PM at Linnemann Funeral Homes, Burlington. Funeral services will immediately follow at 2 PM with military honors. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Elizabeth Cancer Center .To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
