Larry L. Fahnestock, 81, of Shippensburg, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital. Born on September 16, 1944, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Clarence and Evelyn McKelvey Fahnestock.

Larry worked as a machinist at Landis Machine Company in Waynesboro for 30 years before retiring. He found great pleasure in fishing and hunting, and he cherished his morning black coffee, the company of his family, and the loyal companionship of his dogs, Molly Ann and Dottie May.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Janet M. Sechrist Fahnestock, whom he married on April 11, 1966; his daughter, Kimberly Lynch and her husband Tony, Sr., of Shippensburg; two grandchildren, Nichole Hofe and her husband Timothy, and Tony Lynch, Jr., both of Shippensburg; two great-grandchildren, Karly Elizabeth Yohe and Alexandria Nichole Yohe; his nephew Ronnie Wengert of Orrtanna; and great-nephew J.R. Wengert of Orrtanna. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his son, Larry Lee Fahnestock, and three siblings, Terry Fahnestock, Peggy Byers, and Vivian Cook.
