Larry Dean Krull (Ret)Resident of Dawsonville and formerly DahlonegaLarry Krull, 90, passed away on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. He was born on May 1, 1935, in Olympia, Washington to Walter Krull and Esther Wahl Krull; the oldest of three children he is survived by sister Kathleen (Eric Ottum) and brother Arthur (Kathrine) Krull. He was preceded in death by his wife, Joanne Olson Krull, and survived by his wife, Doris (Dottie) Krull married in 1990. The children of their blended family are Russel (Kathy), Bill (Ann), Suzanne (Don), Julianne (Chuck), Colleen and Sean (Mary Beth). They have blessed him with 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren all living from coast to coast. He served his country in the United States Air Force for more than 25 years, 6 in Foreign Service. Larry would describe himself as a "heavy equipment operator," his favorite equipment being and RF-4C. Fellow servicemen would describe him as an effective compassionate leader, one "you would follow down any path necessary to accomplish the mission" and that "we never forgot his leadership or the lessons we learned from him." Following his military service Larry worked in the defense industry and Financial Planning completing his employed career in 2006 as COO for a manufacturing company in Naperville, Illinois where he was known to operate a forklift when given the chance. He retired to the mountains of North Georgia and began a new career as a volunteer: Larry completed required Courses for Master Gardners and was involved with the Annual Plant Sale, completed Appalachian Community Studies, Training for Citizens Law Enforcement Academy and served as a Tutor and Volunteer with C.A.S.B. and he was a member of the Sheriff's Posse. Larry was a member of the Dahlonega Methodist Church completing courses for Lay Servant Ministries. He also trained and volunteered as a Stephen Minister.Visitation on Friday, March 20, from 3pm to 7pm, at Dahlonega Funeral Home, funeral service will be held at Dahlonega Methodist Church on Saturday, March 21 at 11:00 a.m., internment at Georgia National Cemetery, Canton, 2:00 p.m. on March 24, 2026.
