Larry Jay Fisher, originally from Harvey, ND peacefully passed away onMarch 10, 2026. A resident of the Las Vegas area since 1969, Larry wasborn on May 9, 1939 to Evelyn (Ostrem) and Donald Fisher in WellsCounty, North Dakota. Larry will be remembered most notably for hispassion and talent for painting trains and his eternal love for his family. Hisdedication and love for trains came from being raised in a railroad familyand when he wasn’t painting he would spend time traveling, golfing,watching baseball and having a beer with friends on a Saturday night.
He grew up in North Dakota and after graduating from Harvey High Schoolin 1957, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorablydischarged in 1962 from the service and briefly worked in Fargo, ND as ataxi driver and cameraman upon meeting his future wife. Then in 1969after moving to Las Vegas, NV he married the love of his life, the late CarolAnn Brunsvold on November 8, 1969, where they raised their two children,Sheryl and Jon. He worked as the Art Director at KTNV Channel 13 forover 30 years, making endless friends and displaying his talent as an artist.In 1998 he retired from Channel 13 and started to devote more time to hisartwork at Heritage Art Editions and planning vacations with his wife. Theyloved traveling to countless places, but one of their best trips, whichstarted his endless love of Hawaii was with Stan and Luella Schroeder, hishigh school classmates and lifelong friends.
Those left to cherish his memory include his son Jon Fisher of Las Vegas,daughter-in-law Mika Fisher, daughter Sheryl (Fisher) Wilczynski and sonin-law Art Wilczynski of Las Vegas, grandchildren Preston Wilczynski,Tommy Fisher, Lola Fisher, a niece Sandy Fisher and 3 nephews David,Tom and Joe Fisher in Montana and North Dakota. Larry is predeceasedby his parents, Evelyn and Don Fisher, his brother Darrell Fisher, and hiswife of 49 years, Carol Fisher.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life gathering on March 31, 2026 at Davis Funeral Home located at 6200 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, Nevada 89119.
