Larry Patrick ObituaryObituary published on Legacy.com by Iowa Cremation - Cedar Rapids on Mar. 17, 2026.Larry Harold Patrick (80) of Shell Rock, Iowa passed away March 14, 2026, in Waverly Hospital from heart complications.Larry was born on January 13, 1946, in Postville, Iowa. The son of Harold and Thelma Patrick. Larry graduated from West Union North High School in 1965. He then joined the US Navy and served on the USS Kitty Hawk aircraft carrier. On March 6, 1971, he married the love of his life Kathryn Ellen Wetzel. They had Shane in 1973 and Ryan in 1979. Through the years he had many jobs, but his love was driving Semi truck across country. After retiring he drove truck for Target and PCI.Larry served his community by serving as a paramedic on the Shell Rock Ambulance crew, Sunday School teacher at his church and was a member of the Shell Rock Odd Fellows. Larry enjoyed spending time with his family, playing cards/cribbage.Larry is survived by his wife Kathi of 55 years and his son Shane (Jess Ackerson) Patrick of Waverly, IA his kids Abigail (Caden Palmer) Patrick of Oelwein, IA and Hannah Patrick of Oelwein. His son Ryan (Jessica) Patrick of Grundy Center, IA his kids Gabrielle (Jacob Beaty) Patrick of Wellsburg, IA and Olivia and Kathryn Patrick of Grundy Center, IA. His brother Dean (Bonnie) Patrick of West Union, IA and his sister Rosie (Alan) Berns of Winthrop, IA and many nieces and nephews.He is proceeded in death by his parents Harold and Thelma Patrick and Sister Sharon (Bob) Erickson and many other family members.Celebrations of Life will be held Saturday, April 11, 2026, at VFW 1300 4th St NW Waverly, Iowa 50677 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.
