He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Douglas and Wilma Douglas (Frank); his stepson Joshua Hayes; and his sisters, Harriet Slifko and Lynnann Swick.

He is survived by: his wife Luanne K. Douglas (Layman); his children, Nate and Dannah Douglas; his brother Steve Douglas (Lana); his grandchildren, Kareana, Hunter, Cole, Dylan, Kale Hayes and Brock Mullins; and his great grandchild Kali Kay Snelling. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home (985 N 21st St, Newark, OH 43055). A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 16th 2026 at the Wilson Cemetery (4254 Marion Rd NE, Newark, OH 43055).
