He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward Dorsett, Sr. and Evelyn Virginia Motsinger Dorsett. He is survived by: his daughters, Molly Slate (Brian) of Wallburg, Emily Dorsett of Thomasville and Jenny Dorsett (Brennen Duncan) of Thomasville; his grandchildren, Ethan Reed and McRae Slate; and his siblings, David Dorsett (Anne) and Jane Dorsett.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM at the Wright Funerals-Cremations (1720 Westchester Dr, High Point, NC 27262). A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 21st 2026 at the Floral Garden Memorial Park Cemetery (1730 W English Rd, High Point, NC 27262).
